Storytelling…

My business is about telling stories.  After earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico, I worked with several architectural firms, with the intention of becoming a licensed architect.
What I discovered was my passion for transforming architectural spaces to reflect the unique and specific stories of my clients - in their homes and in their offices.  That discovery led me to establish my company, Studio J Interiors, Inc.  I have built my business around designing commercial and residential interiors that “tell stories” — my clients’ stories.

What Inspires Me?

Someone asked me recently, what inspires me?  Without hesitation, I answered…“My Clients!”  Good design begins with listening, and my clients tell me that I am unique because I listen deeply and intuitively to what they say.  Out of that “listening” come plans with a vision that is a reflection of lives uniquely lived.

When working with businesses, their stories become a reflection of their history, values, organization, philosophy and professionalism — in a nutshell the BRAND of that business.  That branding becomes the foundation for design solutions.

I believe that Inspired and Innovative Design can transform how we experience our lives.

So that’s what I offer my clients…

INSPIRATION, INNOVATION AND TRANSFORMATION!

My Experience

I have been working in the interior design industry for over two decades. In the commercial arena, I have worked on such projects as redesign of the offices of the Los Alamos Technical Associates (LATA) in Park Plaza, clubhouses and model apartments for over thirty high end apartment developments built by the A. G. Spanos Companies (Owners of the Los Angeles Chargers) along with redesign of, Private Banking Offices for Bank of Albuquerque, office remodels for First American Title Company, Rio Grande Title Company, offices for the B. R. Gordon Construction Company, and numerous law offices and realtors offices.

Residential design work has included working with builders and clients to refine floor plans; space planning; selection of finishes, fixtures, lighting and furnishings for new custom homes; and design, project oversight, selection of finishes, fixtures, lighting and furnishings for custom remodel work.

I am a color specialist and an expert in design of custom window and bed treatments.  And, of course, we would not want to overlook artwork and accessories, the “jewelry” that puts the finishing touches on every project!

My design work has been featured in Su Casa Magazine and I am an award winning designer in the Albuquerque Parade of Homes.
